Tycho shares new track "PBS (Live Edit)" from Back To Mine compilation due Sept 30th. Alexandra Palace show on Oct 1st & 'Dive' reissue due Dec 9th.

San Francisco artist Tycho announced that he will be the latest to put his stamp on the legendary mix series 'Back To Mine', set for release on September 30th and is today sharing his previously unreleased track"PBS (Live Edit)", which is part of the compilation.

Back To Mine is a compilation series renowned for its diverse collections and credible compilers. Now twenty years since the first Back To Mine release, the series has returned to deliver more ‘personal collections for after-hours grooving’. The series has featured everyone from New Order to Royksopp, Fatboy Slim to Tricky, and even Jungle, Carl Cox, and Nightmares on Wax.

Tycho's compilation features tracks by some of Tycho's favourite artists as well as two exclusive, unreleased songs, including a Little Dragon remix and new edit of Tycho’s 2006 track, “PBS”.

Speaking about "PBS (Live Edit)", Scott Hansen of Tycho said

"'PBS', one of the earliest songs from Past is Prologue, was written on a chilly January evening in Sacramento in 2003. I was inspired playing around with a new synthesizer — the Novation KS4 — and wrote the main melody. By the time the song was finished it had become the centerpiece of the album.

'PBS (Live Edit)' is the result of years of playing the song live with the band and subtly changing things. I typically stay true to the album version when playing songs live, but with 'PBS' I flipped the final part into a new space giving it a little drive and energy."

Tycho also recently launched the first ever web3-based music fan community, Tycho Open Source as well as the the reissue of his landmark 2011 album 'Dive', which will come out on Dec 9th (UK & EU) and Jan 13th (US) via Ghostly International. To celebrate, Tycho will play a headline London show at Alexandra Palace Theatre on Saturday, October 1st, which will see his iconic 2011 album 'Dive' in its entirety front to back, followed by a second set of tracks from the entire Tycho catalogue.

Speaking on the reissue, Scott Hansen said:

"Dive recently turned 10 and I thought it would be a nice opportunity to reflect on the past decade and what the album means to me both personally and professionally. This album was the result of 6 years of experimentation and learning, continually evolving ideas through an iterative process of trial and error.

It spanned a period where I moved from my hometown of Sacramento to San Francisco, transitioned from my career as a graphic designer to a full time musician and signed with a record label.

It was the impetus for forming the band and Zac, Rory and I ended up spending the better part of the next 8 years touring and recording. It’s been an incredible trip and every day I am grateful to be on this journey, it has been one of the most fulfilling things I’ll ever experience."

Dive has been out of print for the past two years and will be available in a limited edition orange and red marble vinyl.
