Touching Ice
LA-based trio Touching Ice make their debut on Ninja Tune imprint Technicolour with new single & video “Trace me on2 u”.

Formed in 2023 and comprising Abigail Reese, Dominic Colangelo, and Davis Stewart, Touching Ice have steadily carved out a unique lane of their own, blending industrial textures with their indie-tinged pop. Anchored by Abigail's distinct vocals, the trio’s sound comes with an experimental edge that has earned them praise from the likes of International media outlets.
Speaking on the new release, Touching Ice says:
“Trace me on2 u” is our first “big kid” release via Technicolour Records. The song came together very spontaneously. We had spent all day in the studio meticulously working on other songs and felt like we were hitting a wall. In an attempt to switch gears, Mike (CFCF) started messing around in Ableton and came up with one of the main synth lines.
We immediately felt inspired, and the vocals were recorded on the spot at Dom’s house. Lyrically, we were drawing from some of our favorite indie rock records (Title Fight, Sebadoh) and trying to translate that rawness, as well as a distinctly feminine angst into a dance song.
We’re constantly trying to evolve our sound and find ourselves toeing a lot of lines: catchy and experimental, pop and alternative, soft and aggressive.
This song feels like a natural extension of that."
Today’s release lands with an accompanying music video, directed by Aaron Garcia Peretz (recent work includes Current Joys, CFCF, H Lorenzo, ap0cene).
The new release also arrives ahead of an exciting run of live dates, which will see Touching Ice embark on their first UK/EU tour. Kicking off in Portugal at Mucho Flow Festival (Oct 30th), once described by Crack as "one of Europe's best-kept secrets when it comes to experimental music", the group will then play Manchester (Nov 1st) before heading to London (Nov 4th) and Paris (Nov 7th) as part of Pitchfork Music Festival, appearing at Village Underground and La Mécanique Ondulatoire alongside the likes of The Femcels, DJ Suzy, MGNA Crrrta, daine and more. While in London, the band will also play The Windmill, Brixton (Nov 5th), before wrapping up the run in Brussels (Nov 8th).
The forthcoming shows follow an already impressive schedule of live performances, with the band having shared stages with some of the scene’s most exciting artists. Recent performances include support slots for feeble little horse, Model/Actriz, and Daniel Avery, plus festival appearances at Earthport, Portland's All Roads and Flower Moon in Santa Ana, as well as a guest mix for Rinse France.
Having built momentum through a growing catalogue, including their 2025 debut album ‘I Just Remembered Everything Always Works Out For Me’, contributions to CFCF's acclaimed 2026 album ‘L.U.V.’, and the remix project ‘100 of the Best EDM Songs’, which featured contributions from Current Joys, The Bloody Beetroots, untitled (halo), Mandy Indiana and more, "Trace me on2 u" signals an exciting new chapter for the band as they continue to establish themselves as one of LA's most compelling rising acts.
