Dutch alt-rock maestro Robin Kester unveils brand new single ‘The Daylight’, out today, marking the fourth preview from her ‘Dark Sky Reserve’ LP set for release September 12th via Memphis Industries (The Go! Team, Field Music, POLIÇA).

Detailing her newest LP reveal, Kester explained:

“This song, to me, symbolizes moments of uncertainty: an in-between feeling, where everything seems both possible and out of reach at the same time. It doesn’t matter when, always aware of that sense of being trapped in a moment, while also dreaming of something brighter ahead, something that feels like it could be right.”

Newly-announced to support This Is The Kit on their August UK tour, Kester’s forthcoming second album has already spawned acclaimed lead singles ‘Departure’, ‘Happy Sad (It’s A Party)’ and ‘An Hour Per Day’, with her latest offering showcasing her stirring chamber pop and psychedelia in full flow.

Returning with her new record this autumn, ‘Dark Sky Reserve’ is a soundtrack to all the thoughts that bubble to the surface once the silence sinks in. Recorded abroad for the first time in Bristol in partnership with esteemed producer Ali Chant (PJ Harvey, Perfume Genius, Yard Act), it represents Kester’s most artistically focused album to date, combining a rich, layered humanity in the music with minimalist lyricism.

Carving out her gorgeously rich and unique sound, Kester’s influences from the likes of Talk Talk, Adrian Utley (Portishead), Air and PJ Harvey can be seen throughout her new material. Much of the music specifically concerns her relationship with herself, and the result of the musician writing from a place of newfound clarity.

With support ruminating throughout the press landscape, as well as across the BBC 6 Music airwaves (Huw Stephens, Emily Pilbeam, Nemone), Kester is primed for a run of European dates this autumn to herald the release of her brand new full-length.

Robin Kester’s ‘The Daylight’ is out now via Memphis Industries and available on all digital platforms.
