Paris-based band SCHØØL is back with a new single "Somehow" via Géographie.

The supergroup SCHØØL is back! A year after releasing their debut album, I think my life has been OK, the band returns with "Somehow," via Géographie, coinciding with their return to the stage on October 10th at Le Trianon (Paris, France), where they will be opening for WU-LYF.

"Somehow" continues the melancholic tone of SCHØØL’s debut album, I think my life has been OK, released last year. This new track once again drifts between grunge, shoegaze, Britpop, baggy rock, and skate culture.

Francis Mallari (vocalist for Rendez-Vous and frontman of SCHØØL) wrote the lyrics against the backdrop of a breakup, exploring themes of guilt and self-forgiveness.

The song thus extends the reflection on acceptance that was already touched upon in the previous album.

SCHØØL was formed in Paris in the autumn of 2023, spearheaded by Francis Mallari (vocalist for the band Rendez-Vous) and joined by Franco-American Erica Ashleson (Special Friend, Dog Park, Eggs) on bass, Australian Jack Moase (Liquid Face) on guitar, and Alex Battez (Marble Arch) on drums.

They came together to form the band they had all dreamed of as teenagers, drawing inspiration from 90s shoegaze acts like Swirlies and Drop Nineteens.

Following the release of their debut hit "N.S.M.L.Y.D.," momentum built rapidly, leading up to the release of their first album, I think my life has been OK, in September 2025. Today, SCHØØL is a rising force on the French rock scene.
