Low Girl announce debut LP 'Is It Too Late To Freak Out?' & share lead single 'Handbrake' out today via AWAL.

Indie specialists Low Girl announce debut album ‘Is It Too Late To Freak Out?’ set for release October 22nd via AWAL, and share lead single ‘Handbrake’ out today.
An exhilarating adventure in genre-hopping, throbbing and glistening with a quietly ecstatic joy, ‘Handbrake’ marks the first reveal from their forthcoming full-length, and arrives alongside news of an extensive UK headline tour this autumn to coincide with its release.
Initially started as a solo project from enigmatic frontwoman Sarah Cosgrove, Low Girl has since expanded to include her sibling Tom Cosgrove (drums), bassist/guitarist Bradley Taylor and keyboardist Toby Morgan, whom she met while studying at Lincoln University.
On debut album ‘Is It Too Late To Freak Out?’, the group’s intermingling voices and guitar melodies create vivid, endlessly curious soundscapes, showcasing a collection filled with exploratory songs that unfold with momentum and the sound of a group of musicians who are deeply attuned to each other.
With several releases under their belts already, the indie quartet have received widespread acclaim throughout the tastemaker community & international media outlets over the past few years, alongside countless plays on the BBC 6 Music (playlist), BBC Radio 1 and Radio X airwaves. Whilst on the live front, the band have ticked off slots at SXSW and Reading & Leeds Festival, as well as various supports with acts including Dream Wife, The Murder Capital and Swim Deep as momentum builds.
Detailing their upcoming release, Cosgrove explained:
“This track came about on a gloomy November evening through Bradley, myself, and a Mac. We had just finished touring with October Drift, and I had a case of the post-tour blues.
Some of that angst evidently bled into the track, but lyrically ‘Handbrake’ deals with themes of guilt and desperation. I think, like many of the album tracks, I’m expressing things I was too passive to articulate in the moment.”
Low Girl’s ‘Handbrake’ is out now via AWAL and available on all digital platforms.
