Heather Woods Broderick shares new single & video "Blood Run Through Me" out now via Western Vinyl. Announces US tour this month with Beth Orton.

Heather Woods Broderick has shared her glimmering new single “Blood Run Through Me,” out now via Western Vinyl.

Built from a softly pulsating beat and bassline, the song is

“about human connection and the ways in which we move through our experiences, in relation to one another. Everyone has their own perspective or view through which they experience life, and

although we move through life somewhat collectively, we each have our own story to tell,”

explains Broderick. “Blood Run Through Me,” which also features vocals from co-producer D. James Goodwin and Lisa Hannigan, was shared alongside a Jeremy Johnstone directed video.

“The idea for the video was to capture individuals reacting to the song, highlighting people’s individuality with the song being the common denominator,”

Broderick continues about the clip,

“It’s beautiful to learn about people through observation - through their movements large or small, or through making eye contact. It was incredible to see how this song made people want to move, or the emotion it evoked at times - to exchange the story in the song for a glimpse into these individuals' experience.”

Blood Run Through Me follows Broderick’s first fully instrumental work, the cello drone album Domes released earlier this year, and her acclaimed 2019 album, Invitation. An album of dreamy baroque-pop, Invitation saw praise from NPR Music, NPR All Things Considered (“this pensive, expansively orchestrated gem”), and more. Broderick—also known for her work playing and touring with Sharon Van Etten, Damien Jurado, Efterklang, and Laura Gibson—is currently on the road supporting Beth Orton, with whom she’ll be performing each night as well. A current itinerary is below.
