MORT GARSON

Sacred Bones to release 3 reissues & a previously unreleased compilation  'Music From Patch Cord Productions,' ‘Didn’t You Hear OST’, Lucifer’s‘Black Mass’ and Ataraxia’s ‘The Unexplained’.

Sacred Bones will release a series of reissues, bringing back three fascinating records from the Mort Garson back-catalogue back into print. ‘Didn’t You Hear OST’Lucifer’s ‘Black Mass’ and Ataraxia’s ‘The Unexplained’.

As well as this Sacred Bones will release Mort Garson's 'Music From Patch Cord Productions', unveiling a new compilation of rare and unreleased music.

All four records will be released on November 6th and today "Dragonfly" from the 'Music From Patch Cord Productionscollection is streaming online.

Sacred Bones chose "Dragonflyto highlight Garson's diverse range as a composer and multifaceted musician. It has the signature Mort Garson touch but is essentially a funky disco song, which is a style very few people will have heard from him. The unreleased song is somewhat of a mystery. The label discovered the track on one of the tapes and it was likely recorded in the early 70s.

Morton S. “Mort” Garson was a Canadian-born composer, arranger, songwriter, and pioneer of electronic music, known for his albums in the 1960s and 1970s that were among the first to feature Moog synthesizers. His best-known album is ‘Mother Earth’s Plantasia', a 1976 Moog album designed to be played “for plants and the people who love them.”

Sacred Bones Records has undertaken the project of giving official, licensed reissues to key releases from Mort Garson’s catalog, with the intention of bringing these bold masterpieces to a 21st century audience.
