Whitelands announce UK tour in February 2026 to accompany second album 'Sunlight Echoes' out 30th January via Sonic Cathedral.

London-based band Whitelands have announced a UK tour in February 2026 to accompany the release of their second album 'Sunlight Echoes' out 30th January 2026 via Sonic Cathedral. The new record builds on 2024’s 'Night-bound Eyes Are Blind To The Day' – the elemental debut that won them fans from Slowdive to David Jonsson – with a more expansive sound that takes them out of the shoegaze shadows to somewhere bigger, better, brighter and poppier.
Whitelands herald the arrival of 'Sunlight Echoes' with new single ‘Glance’, an irresistible earworm of a pop song. 'Glance' is a statement of intent from a new, bigger, bolder Whitelands ready to release a sunrise of songs bursting with melody. The new single came about because of singer Etienne suffering from writer’s block until he met someone at a party. In the video, the glance is between actors David Jonsson and Honor Swinton Byrne.
"It’s not every day you get movie stars to be in your video, David mentioned driving with Frank Ocean and they both talked about Whitelands which is insane to think about"
says Etienne.
The video is extraordinary, a beautifully shot, atmospheric clip that captures the sheer joy, intimacy and heartache of love through David and Honor's charismatic performances.
Whitelands' second album 'Sunlight Echoes' is a story of a young band on the rise; of musical and spiritual growth. Since the release of their debut, Whitelands have encountered – and overcome – various personal and professional struggles. Some of them are sadly relatable, born out of life’s many unwelcome challenges, others more specific to the harsh realities of making a living as a band in the 2020s. Never has such a combination sounded so beautiful, triumphant and life-affirming as on the ten tracks that make up 'Sunlight Echoes'. The record is testament to the healing power of awesome music.
Produced by long-time collaborator Ian Flynn and mixed by double Grammy Award-winner Eduardo De La Paz (New Order, The Horrors, The Charlatans, The KVB, Drug Store Romeos), there are soaring string arrangements by Iskra Strings and Lush guest vocals from Sonic Cathedral labelmate Emma Anderson.
Glance follows on from the poppy, political ‘Heat Of The Summer’ track Whitelands released in June. The band garnered a slew of praise from UK and international media for this gentle banger inspired by Luigi Mangione, including a BBC Radio 6 Music premiere by Huw Stephens, TIDAL Indie Daze playlist cover, Spotify New Music and Amazon Breakthrough Rock.
The tour takes in dates in Paris and a slot at Grauzone Festival in the Netherlands, before heading back to the UK. It’s in addition to previously announced shows and festival dates, including their biggest London headline show to date at Corsica Studios on November 20.
