Tycho releases new single "Forge", out today on Ninja Tune / MOM + POP RECORDS.
Tycho has today announced and released “Forge”, the follow-up to (and early incarnation of) “Boundary Rider”, his recent collaboration with Paul Banks (Interpol). track which saw support from the likes of International media outlet.
Speaking about the track, Tycho says:
“‘Boundary Rider’ started life as a demo called ‘Forge’, a driving open-ended extension of the Epoch-era sound.
I originally sent a pretty stripped back version to Paul Banks to see if he was interested in contributing vocals, which later informed the direction of that arrangement.
After completing that version, I revisited the original to see if I could draw a compelling instrumental out of it.
This is sometimes difficult with a song written with vocals in mind — it’s hard to find the elements to tie it all together once the vocals are gone.
But with this one it ended up feeling nicely balanced just by pushing Zac’s guitars to the front a bit, retaining the isolated sound of the vocal version while opening up more space for the instrumentation to breathe.”
The project of celebrated San Francisco songwriter, musician and producer Scott Hansen – Tycho released his ‘Infinite Health’ album last year to widespread acclaim. It was the sixth studio record for the twice Grammy-nominated artist, who has a long history of notable collaborations and remixes, working with the likes of ODESZA, Maggie Rogers, Little Dragon, Leon Bridges, and Death Cab for Cutie.
Throughout 2025, Tycho took his revered live show and ISO50 visuals to over 67k concertgoers across the US support of Polo & Pan, with additional headline DJ shows and special TYCHO:ISO50 show at this Art Basel Miami. He continues to tour throughout 2026, with stops at CRSSD Festival, Okeechobee Music & Arts Festival, and a performance with Washed Out at The Caverns in Pelham in April.
