The band first announced to the world in 2017 with the self-titled debut EP, a six tracks statement of intent mixed by legendary producer Dave Bascombe (whose credits include Depeche Mode, Suede, Placebo and the Courteeners). The record quickly caught the ear of tastemakers and radio programmers alike, earning significant support from BBC 6 Music, Radio X, BBC London, Amazing Radio and RTE 2FM, while tracks from the EP were also picked up by Spotify's global editorial playlists.
After touring, Secret Cameras returned in 2020 with the single The Silence. The track resonated deeply with fans and press alike, with BBC 6 Music's Steve Lamacq praising it as "Majestic."
