PISS share new single & video, announce London Scala show & confirm Primavera Sound. Debut album 'you made me / skin on linen' out Oct 30th on Sub Pop.

PISS have shared a new single & official video, taken from their forthcoming album 'you made me / skin on linen', which is set for release on October 30th on LP/CD/DSPs worldwide from Sub Pop and in Canada from Paper Bag Records.

“Rote Zora. “Resistance is Possible.” Emma, no. 6, June 1984, pp. 39-41.” takes its lyrics from an interview transcript first published in Emma in 1984 (a full English translation can be accessed at theanarchistlibrary.org). The accompanying video was directed by Eila Vallevand and combines found footage and animation.

“Rote Zora. “Resistance is Possible.” Emma, no. 6, June 1984, pp. 39-41.” follows previous singles,  “blocking a scene you can’t remember,” and “time loop at hot slit”. The new track comes alongside the news that their recently announced London show at Moth Club is sold out and a new February date at The Scala has been added, as well as the band having been confirmed to play Primavera Barcelona next year.

PISS is Taylor Zantingh (vocals), Tyler Paterson (guitar), Gavin Moya (bass), and Garreth Roberts (drums). The band recorded their debut album, 'you made me /skin on linen', in January 2025 with Colin Stewart at Hive Creative Labs.

The Vancouver, B.C. band combines punk, poetry, sound collage, performance art, and visual art, creating a multidisciplinary body of work that blurs the line between personal and political. 'you made me /skin on linen', depicts a childhood shaped by structural, systemic, and intimate violence.

Throughout the record, art-making motifs serve as metaphors for the myriad ways we carry the effects of this violence: each experience leaves an impression, gradually creating or deforming the self, much like a piece of clay moulded by every mark it receives.

The record resists simple conclusions; rather than offering a single perspective, it examines violence as a ubiquitous facet of our culture. It asks questions—how does violence impact our development? Are our wounds inextricable parts of us? And if not, then where do our wounds end and we begin?—and allows the listener to devise their own answers.

you made me/ skin on linen is now available to preorder from Sub Pop and Bandcamp. LP preorders from megamart.subpop.com in North America, Mega Mart Europe in the UK/EU, and your local record store will receive the album on Baby Pink vinyl, with a Baby Pink/Grey Blend available exclusively at their Bandcamp page and at the band's live show, while supplies last.
