Low Girl share final LP preview 'White Gown' from Debut LP 'Is It Too Late To Freak Out?' arriving this Friday Oct 24th via AWAL.

Indie risers Low Girl share final LP preview 'White Gown', marking the final reveal from their forthcoming debut album ‘Is It Too Late To Freak Out?’ set for release this Friday (October 24th) via AWAL.
Spawning lead singles ‘Handbrake’, ‘No Reasons’ and ‘Overgrown’ to widespread fanfare, ‘White Gown’ provides an introspective glimpse into the group’s songwriting, with its upbeat, infectious overtones showcasing their potential in full flow.
Written and recorded between Bedford and rural Yorkshire, the band have been intentional about ensuring the sonic diversity of the entire album, nodding to the atmospheric dream-pop of Canadian group Alvvays, as well as guitarist Bradley Taylor’s lifelong love of emo.
‘Is It Too Late To Freak Out?’, therefore, is the result of absolute devotion to the craft and fine-tuning; the more hardships they have had to weather as individuals, the more precious their moments of collaboration have become.
With an extensive UK headline tour coming up this autumn to coincide with their LP release, Low Girl are primed to build on a groundswell of acclaim throughout the press landscape (Stereogum, DIY, The Line Of Best Fit, Clash, Record Collector) in recent times, not to mention their countless plays on the BBC 6 Music (playlist), BBC Radio 1 and Radio X airwaves. On the live front too, the band have ticked off slots at SXSW and Reading & Leeds Festival, as well as various supports with acts including Dream Wife, The Murder Capital and Swim Deep, signifying their thrilling live prowess.
Speaking on their single, frontwoman Sarah Cosgrove revealed:
“The experience of starting a relationship at the start of your twenties, reaching all the expected milestones of moving in together, engagement, and then breaking up in your late twenties, is quite disorientating.
I know I’m certainly not alone in that sequence of events, but I felt really inspired to write about the chaos that followed as I tried to figure myself out again. The canvas for this track was provided by Tom and Bradley in the form of the opening riff.
It was one of those songs where once we started jamming it out, the whole thing came together with surprising speed. The end result is something we are so excited about and proud of, and it feels like the energetic crux of the album.”
