Gone Future
Swedish band, Gone Future share new single 'Something Else', out now on PNKSLM Recordings.
Swedish indie-rockers Gone Future return with their second single since signing to tastemaker Stockholm imprint PNKSLM Recordings (Clutter, Vegas Water Taxi, 7ebra).
This time out, the newly-minted quartet share ‘Something Else’, a bracing, hypnotic piece of synth-forward psych rock that searches for new meanings to live in a world marred by overconsumption and under-stimulation.
“‘Something Else’ is post-pandemic flames, or ashes. That bottomless feeling of under-stimulation, even though you know you’ve been hanging around too much. But it’s been with the wrong crowd, and at all the wrong places.
You’re picking up the shambles afterwards, and yet you keep doing it, again and again. It’s about a life constantly evolving, speeding. Making money, spending it. Making friends, and losing them. Loving so much it just turns to hate. All the while reassuring yourself, ‘I’m alright, I’m comforted.’”

‘Something Else’ follows on from Gone Future’s debut single ‘Nightcap’, which landed earlier this year. A swaggeringly heavy maelstrom that serves as an ode to misspent nights on the tiles, it finds the quartet emerge fully formed and received support at press and UK radio from the likes of Dork, Radio X, The Line of Best Fit, Wonderland, Indie Is Not A Genre and more.
Across their previous projects - which include Swedish indie-rock royalty Dolores Haze, Mando Diao and Dead Vibrations - the members of Gone Future have a glittering CV already: having received international press acclaim from the likes of The Guardian, and International media outlets, performed at festivals including End of the Road, Iceland Airwaves, The Great Escape and Eurosonic, and toured across the continent to a devoted following.
Having made their live debut in Stockholm earlier this year, and recently opened for label mates Clutter there too, Gone Future head to the UK for their first ever show on these shores next month.
They play alongside PNKSLM favourites Sibille Attar and Stephanie Gilbert for a label takeover of The Social in London on Oct 20th.
