Today Farao, the musical alias of Norwegian producer Kari Jahnsen, shares new single "Spiritual Garden" out now via marvaða (UK/EU) & Western Vinyl, which follows on from recent recent singles "Waiting For You" & "Dreamy Ride".

"Spiritual Garden draws its title from a lyric in Janet Jackson’s 'Special' and blends sensual alternative R&B with introspective reflections on abandonment and reclaiming self-worth. Farao’s signature vocal layering floats over a seductive early-2000s-inspired beat that nods to Aaliyah’s 'Rock the Boat,' while her use of the zither adds an ethereal texture that pulls you deeper into the song’s alluring production.

On the track, Farao said

“I wrote ‘Spiritual Garden’ as a kind of sonic ritual—something soft, intimate, and defiant. It’s a song for anyone who’s ever had to pick up the pieces and water themselves back to life.”

Farao's previous releases have received glowing reviews from leading publications such as Pitchfork, NPR, and The New York Times, and debut album “Till It’s All Forgotten” earned her a nomination for Best Composer at Norway’s Spellemannprisen (Norwegian Grammy Awards).

Jahnsen has also released two albums with the disco duo Ultraflex, who won the Icelandic Music Award for Best Electronic Album. She has performed at top festivals and venues around the world, including Roskilde, SXSW, Øya, and Green Man, building a devoted following across Europe and the U.S.

Her previous work includes collaborations with legendary mixing engineer Andrew Scheps (Beyoncé, Lady Gaga, Adele) across two solo albums that have drawn international acclaim.
