Bug Teeth

Leeds psych/dream-pop project Bug Teeth share Far Caspian and TURNSPIT remixes ahead of End of the Road apperance. Acclaimed debut album Micrographia out now.

Ahead of a London headline at The George Tavern next month and an appearance at End of The Road festival in September Leeds’ psych/dream-pop project Bug Teeth return with My Stupid Tree-Frog Daughter/Thin Circle (Remixes) - landing today (19th August) via state51 distribution.

Collaborating with fellow Leeds mainstays TURNSPIT and Far Caspian, their latest release channels the electronic influence that has run through the project since its founding by band leader PJ Johnson, as well as the close-knit, collaborative creativity of a thriving grassroots community (Bug Teeth have recently remixed English Teacher and Kiosk themselves too).

It also sees reworks of two tracks from last year’s acclaimed debut album Micrographia - an uplifting, beautiful and healing record grieving the loss of PJ’s mother in 2021 - which received BBC 6music airplay from Lauren Laverne, Emily Pilbeam, Don Letts and New Music Fix, and glowing reviews from the likes of International media outlets, some of them declaring the record “one of the finest British debuts of the year”.

Speaking about the release, PJ says:

“After writing an album about grief, putting our songs in new hands could only have felt right with musicians that we love and are inspired by.

TURNSPIT and Far Caspian have given My Stupid Tree-Frog Daughter and Thin Circle a whole new depth and meaning, making them even more special to us.”

With a UK tour in 2026 already under their belt, including a hometown headline at the legendary Brudenell Social Club and a performance at The Great Escape, the band’s expansive compelling live show continues to build on supports for Drugdealer, Melody’s Echo Chamber, mary in the junkyard, English Teacher and A.R. Kane, as well as festival slots at Live At Leeds, Deer Shed, Wide Awake, Latitude and Sound City.
