Outer Limit Lotus
Outer Limit Lotus
Outer Limit Lotus took shape in 2016 as a hybrid of post punk, death rock and goth rock with one foot in the darker spaces of the Scandinavian art scene. After the more or less permanent hiatus of cult noise rock band Haust started, three of the band’s members set out to travel
even further down into the darkness they had begun exploring.
Quickly building up a high standing on the live scene with their unique intensity, guitars drenched in reverb, hypnotic rhythms and double vocals. The band soon started to catch
in on their previous project’s cult standing, playing constantly around Scandinavia on
smaller rock venues, art exhibitions and supporting bigger acts like Tuxedomoon,
Sheer Mag and Marching Church, and playing several relevant festivals.
A completely different take on the Norwegian darkness known from bands like Kvelertak, Årabrot and Okkultokrati.
Their first release, the EP ’Cruising the Old World’ (2016 - Sheep Chase Records) is bound
to be a future cult classic – released prior to their live reputation. The band has since then
been working hard on bigger material more comparable to their live expression.
They followed up with the extended track ’Into The Beat’, released on Christmas Eve in 2017, accompanied by an incredible video by the band’s own Vebjørn Guttormsgaard Møllberg
– a well known video artist on the Scandinavian art scene.
After releasing some intense Carpenter-esque remixes they paved they way towards their brilliantly seductive debut full-length, ’Lotus Eaters’, is here with 8 tracks of dark perfection manifested deep in the shadows.
Outer Limit Lotus are:
