Second wave of confirmations of the FORT Festival 2019.
October 4, 5 and 6 in the walled precinct of Tossa de Mar (Girona)
RECONDITE, MIND AGAINST, ÂME & MATHEW JONSON join the line-up of the FORT FESTIVAL
HAAi and Raxon complete this wave of confirmations, which add to the already confirmed shows of Adriatique, FJAAK, N'to and Patrice Bäumel.
Locals Gerard Bauza, Pulp, Khat and Hallsax are also incorporated into the line-up.
After a first wave of confirmations that seduced all lovers of electronic music, FORT Festival continues to advance in the formation of its line-up for what will be its 3rd edition.
After a 2017 of birth and a 2018 consolidation with two sold-out days of Saturday and Sunday, FORT Festival has begun to weave an artistic program that, without a doubt, could become
the best one to date.
After a first announcement with Adriatique, FJAAK, N'to and Patrice Bäumel, the festival, which will take place on 4, 5 and 6 October in the walled precinct of Tossa de Mar, now confirms Recondite, Mind Against, HAAi, Raxon and the historic union between Frank Wiedemann
(live version of Âme) and Mathew Jonson.
After the alias Recondite hides Lorenz Brunner. This Bavarian composer is one of the most influential actors of the melodic techno genre in the last decade. Whether through his own label Plangent Records or through other high-end houses such as Innervisions, Dystopian, Hotflush Recordings, Life And Death or Afterlife, Recondite has always surprised with each of his works. His music, halfway between techno and house, is slow, quiet, calm. Low with punch represent the only aggressive element in a warm, solitary and introspective environment in which Recondite generates a special bond with the public. Always in live format, his shows involve an intense journey through his best works, whether they have already been published or not.
The brothers Alessandro and Federico Fognini do not need presentations. Born in Italy and based in Berlin, they became known in the clubbing scene as Mind Against. From its beginnings, they showed predilection for the darker genres of the same techno melodic. Stars of the Afterlife label (owned by its predecessors, the Tale Of Us), Mind Against constitute one of the most respected and best positioned couples in the genre. His dark, intimate and close proposal ranges from deep techno to the most elegant minimal, always at low revolutions and giving the harmonies and the bass an absolute protagonism. His productions in other major labels such as Life And Death corroborate a meteoric career. This will be his debut in Tossa de Mar.
Under the alias Âme are two German geniuses of intimate electronica and melodic and down-tempo house. Kristian Beyer, is in charge of the role as selector and DJ, while Frank
Wiedemann, focuses on music production and performance in live format.
Together, they have placed the aka Âme among the most sought after in the scene, in addition
to having given birth to the Innervisions label with Dixon.
FORT Festival will have the fortune to witness a very special performance, because Frank Wiedemann,( Âme,) will merge on stage with another of the most critically acclaimed live shows, that of Mathew Jonson. The Canadian composer is possibly the best product that the Red Bull Music Academy has given in the last decade. His increasingly fervent obsession with all kinds of electronic devices has led him to experiment with house, techno and even jazz sounds (not in vain was he a member of the Cobblestone Jazz group). His appearances are always an ode to the more hedonistic preciosity of electronic production, something that, together with the introspection proposed by Frank Wiedemann, can offer a high impact narrative experience to all the public gathered between the walls of the old medieval castle.
For its part, Raxon is one of the most active producers and the most restless DJs on the European scene. Of Egyptian origin and settled in Barcelona, Raxon has the support of the best selectors in the world. Not in vain, his music has seen the light in houses like Diynamic (by Solomun), Ellum (by Maceo Plex), Kompakt (by Michael Mayer) and Cocoon (by Sven Väth). His sessions always find the most techno version of harmonic electronics, provoking in the audience authentic moments of madness.
HAAi is one of the great artists of the moment. She is Australian, but it has been in London where she has become great. As a resident of the mythical Phonox, he has managed to develop a low-bpm narrative in which techno and house are allowed to be altered by the nu-disco envelope, new acid and tribal percussions. HAAi is the one who signs the Essential Mix of the year on the prestigious BBC Radio 1, ahead of other candidates such as Avalon Emerson, Four Tet or Ricardo Villalobos himself. His performance in FORT Festival is presented as one of the most relevant for the most restless listeners in the area.
Four more names join the list of local talents
As already announced, FORT Festival will continue betting on this 3rd edition by local artists from the northeast of Spain and the south of France. All of them have performed before at parties and house festivals (Great Works), such as the events Locked, Live On Top or Secret.
